Tip 3 - Eye Makeup Application

There are two main points to remember about eye make up application. The first is that matte formulated make up should be used to prevent shine. The second is that you eye make up will need to be applied at least one or two times heavier than normal in order to look natural under studio lighting. A good brand to use is the ELF matte palette - relatively cheap and great in the studio.

Guide to Eye Makeup for Professional Photos

  • Eye makeup needs to be two shades heavier for professional photos
  • Eye liner applied lightly only to the outer half of the eyes
  • Black mascara should always used
  • Emphasize eyebrows with a black or dark brown pencil

When it come to eye liner, black is normally too much for most people with brown or smoke being the most suitable. It is normally best to lightly line the outer half of the eye. More than this can make the eye look smaller.

Mascara should always be black (even if you are blond). A good choice is Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous in Very Black. Finally, emphasise your eyebrows using a medium brown or black pen such as Avon Perfect Eyebrow Pencil
